Does anyone know where Homage get their clothing made?

Main Post:

A few years ago, I got several shirts and some sweatpants from the clothing company called Homage. I absolutely loved their material. Fast forward to today, and I am now a partner in my own clothing line down in the state of Florida. I'm trying to replicate that buttery soft feeling, and I was wondering if anyone here knew where they ordered and printed their clothing. I believe they used to do American Apparel, but do they still?

Top Comment:

I think originally they used American Apparel or Alternative Apparel but I believe their garments are all custom now.

I’d suggest Alternative Apparel as many friends in the past have owned clothing lines and their shirts are very very similar feeling and good quality.

Women's shelters that accept clothing donations?

Main Post:

I've got a large bag of women's clothes to donate, and I'd love to give them right to a shelter or something similar. Does anyone know of a place that is in need of such a thing?

Top Comment:

If any of your clothing is appropriate for job interviews, I would HIGHLY consider giving it to Dress for Success. They can almost always use gently worn formal clothing. Also any plus size stuff you have is a double win. Plus size folks have a hard time enough finding nice things in thrift stores.

I'm moving and have a bunch of clothes I dont wear but are still in great shape. I don't want to take it somewhere thats just going to resell them.

Columbus Urban League's My Brother's Closet provides donated professional clothing to chronically unemployed men and ex-offenders. This might be a good place to consider donating. https://www.cul.org/initiatives/my-brothers-closet/

Best place to sell men's used clothes?

Main Post:

I have accumulated way too many clothes and I want them out of my apartment. I've heard of Plato's Closet, Clothes Mentor, ragorama, etc. Are there any places better to sell used clothes to? Most of the clothes are 'casual' wear for mid 20s age range.

My second option is to donate them to goodwill. I'd rather give them away then get lowballed by some store.

Prepare to be low balled

Old Shoes/Clothing Recycling

Main Post:

Are there any places in Columbus I can take my old/damaged shoes/clothes to recycle?

Top Comment:

Dont just drop off damaged stuff to the thrift shops, they will end up throwing it out anyway. Look for a textile recycling center

Places to Donate Clothes

Main Post:

Hey all!

My husband and I have a good amount of clothing that we need to get rid of and I know none of it will be purchased for anything worth my time at a thrift shop. Goodwill is always available, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any local places that could use our stuff more.

Just figured I would see what my options are! Thanks guys.

Best place for suits in Columbus? [REQUEST]

Main Post:

Starting application process and need a suit or two. Have little experience in how to dress well. Obviously there is Men's Warehouse and J.A. Bank, but any experience with a company like Pursuit that seem to be a small local company? Looking for affordability but also willing to pay extra for superior service.

Top Comment:

Definitely go to Pursuit and ask for Ryan. I just got a suit there a couple months ago and am really impressed with the quality, the best part is it was less than $200 even after alterations.
